Delicious food and excellent friendly service! Our family of 6 visited Timber Charlie's in Newberry, MI on July 6, 2022 for dinner. All food we ordered was delicious and service by Kayla was efficient, friendly, and attentive. Appetizers: Cheese curds - can't stop on these! Pickle Fries - interesting! Onion Rings - these were giant rings :) Mains - all great! : Grass Fed "Wagyu" Beef steak with mushrooms and sauteed onions - perfectly done and delicious! Wild Caught Whitefish Dinner Beef Taco Salad Beef Tenderloin Tip Dinner Grilled Chicken Salad with avocado Steaks were done exactly as ordered, wee juicy and soft. Fish was done perfectly and was fresh and juicy. Thank you Kayla for the great service and Timber Charlie's kitchen for delicious flavorful food! We highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the vicinity! P.s. Try to make a reservation as the place was packed and most people entering had a reservation. We were lucky to get seated in 25 min without reservation.
What a great local place! The food was so good! Lots of variety. Cheese curds and pretzel with beer cheese were yummy! The bean burrito was awesome! The best steak fries I have ever had. My kids all got a side of macaroni and cheese and they all loved it! Great service. Good selection of local breweries on tap.
Ok seriously the yellow belly perch was the best perch we've ever had! 9.9. To take it to a 10 they just need to perhaps add a homemade lemon butter sauce instead of the mediocre tarter sauce served with it...but it doesn't need any sauce anyway...totally is amazing on its own, super fresh and lightly breaded and crisp on the outside. Served with true premium shoe string french fries- excellent. The Brisket, Short Rib and I think Chuck burger was delicious too on its own. I opted for the mushroom Swiss version sans bun. Very fresh mushrooms too. Also recommend a cup of their Vegetable Beef Soup. There were a lot of other menu items that looked delicious...hard to decide. Definitely need to add Savignon Blanc to the wine choices though. Sorry forgot to take photos. Oh and our server, Presley was really good.
This place was really cool on the inside. There are lots of things to look at, and it has a really nice bar. The food came out quickly. Our server was very polite and was on top of keeping our drinks refilled. Food was very good my whitefish dinner was one of the best I've had so far. The sides were amazing. Pickle fries were top notch. We will be back to try other menus items and some of the drinks as we come through this area often.
I had the pasty. Delicious. Wife had fish and chips. Tasty. And huge portions. Pleasant surprise after seeing Tahquamenon Falls.
Took a little detour on our way back to lower northern Michigan from Whitefish Point to stop and eat. We ordered pull pork sandwiches and pulled pork nachos. The sandwiches are packed with pork and so were the nachos. I liked that the pork wasn’t overly smoky tasting. Just enough to blend well with the other ingredients. Our server was also friendly. The restaurant was “noisy” but that’s to be expected when you have a small dining space with so much wood.

Great place for family dinner in Newberry! We stopped during a holiday week and it was packed, but they got us seated fairly quickly. Food took a bit to be served, but it was worth the wait. Prime rib sandwich was delicious! Pulled pork nachos were huge and my teenage son said they were the best he’s had in Michigan. The gyro was a clean place from my husband! Definitely a great place to try if you are traveling.
